Keyboard & Navigation

ClassFabric is designed for easy navigation with or without a mouse. Every interactive element on the platform can be accessed through keyboard controls.

• Tab Navigation — Move between interactive elements using the Tab key. Shift+Tab moves backwards.
• Focus Indicators — Visible focus rings highlight the currently active element so you always know where you are on the page.
• Skip Links — Skip-to-content links allow keyboard users to bypass navigation menus and go directly to the main content.
• Logical Tab Order — All pages follow a logical reading and navigation order consistent with the visual layout.
• No Keyboard Traps — Users can navigate freely into and out of all interactive components using standard keyboard controls.

Screen Reader Support

ClassFabric uses semantic HTML and ARIA attributes to ensure compatibility with popular assistive technologies including JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.

• Semantic HTML — Proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and semantic elements give structure to every page.
• ARIA Labels — Interactive controls and dynamic content include descriptive ARIA labels and live-region announcements.
• Form Labels — All form inputs have associated labels, instructions, and error messages that screen readers can announce.
• Meaningful Link Text — Links and buttons describe their purpose clearly rather than using generic labels like "click here."
• Status Updates — Lesson generation progress and system notifications are announced to screen readers via ARIA live regions.

Content & Readability

Our platform and generated content are designed for maximum readability and clarity. ClassFabric does not rely on images to convey information.

• High Contrast — Text and background colors meet WCAG AA minimum contrast ratios throughout the platform.
• Resizable Text — All text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality using browser zoom controls.
• Readable Fonts — We use clear, professional typefaces (DM Sans and Source Serif) optimized for on-screen readability.
• No Images Required — Content is delivered through well-structured text and semantic markup. No critical information is conveyed through images alone.
• Consistent Layout — Navigation, controls, and page structure remain consistent across the entire platform to minimize cognitive load.

ADA-Accessible PDF Output

ClassFabric generates PDF lesson exports designed with accessibility in mind. Our PDF output is built to support screen readers and assistive technology.

• Tagged PDF Structure — Exported PDFs include structural tags (headings, paragraphs, lists) that enable assistive technology to parse the document correctly.
• Logical Reading Order — Content flows in a consistent, predictable reading order so screen readers present information sequentially.
• Bookmarked Sections — Lesson PDFs include bookmarks for articles, assessments, vocabulary, and activities for quick navigation.
• High-Contrast Print Layout — Student and teacher PDF views use clear typography and sufficient contrast for both screen display and printing.
• Multilingual Support — Accessible PDFs are available in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese with proper language tagging.
